If a person wanted a bike with everything, like a Cadillac, what would it be? It seems to me that BMW has it all sewed up when it comes to the European touring market, and taking the saddlebags from Harley, have really beefed up touring options here in the US. Like the Rolls Royce, or for us poorer folk, the Cadillac, is the standard of comfort to be had in an automobile, what would the BMW equivalent be?
I like the look of the features on the 1200RT-P, but it is the police cruiser, and I think it might be off limits.

I think the Honda Goldwing has as much as the european marked as the BMW does.
The BMW dealer in our area will sell a RT-P to anybody, minus the special equipment of course. I don't know what the advantages are except perhaps the extra battery and the engine guard. The R 1200 RT looks like the same bike.
If you're looking the BMWs best, then it'll be the K1200LT.

I was lookin at the Goldwing also and hear people (that own the 1800) saying they'd rather have the old 1500. I'm still trying to figure out what that's all about. My list keeps smaller :)

I don't know, either. It might have something to do with the size of new Goldwing. It's huge.

Mee too, the reviews I've read make it sound like precise handling bike

Yeah, it’s suppose to have good balance. I like the big engine displacement. There was a white Goldwing at the bike show in Fredericksburg a couple of weeks ago. I’ve never even had a car that had as many switches in it that that bike had. I would love to take one for a test ride.

I haven't test rode one yet but I did sit on one in a showroom in Falls Church - - I was shocked to feel how light it felt when shifting the bike to the left and right, it's very well balanced
