Mustang Motorcycles

Before Ford was even selling its own version, there was a Mustang Motorcycle company. Does anyone have any information on them. I think that they were primarily a racing bike. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated.

From "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Motorcycles": Mustang; America, 1946-64. Destined mainly for town riding, the primitively-built Mustang had a 314cc single-cylinder sidevalve engine. (A grand total of three lines in the book!) Cheers.
