While they would appear to be a great aid in an accident, it also can be an inconvience also.
Many riders don't even want to wear a helmet, so I don't see many riders wanting to hook and unhook the vests triggering cable to and from the bike everytime they get on and off the bike and even forget they are hooked up to their bike, get off their bike and accidently set off the air vest.
