A couple of my friends have told me that I should do a track day to further improve my riding. Anyone doing this? What kind of gear is required? Cost? Any factual insight is appreciated.

I have some friends that do track days. I think you have to have a helmet (of course) and full leathers either a 1 piece suit or a 2 piece that zips together and boots. I think. If you dump your bike on the track most insurance companies won't pay to have it fixed or if it's totaled I've heard.

Adrian would know.

The track will teach you things about riding that you will never learn on the street. I am a different rider because of the track. Do it as often as you can.

By the way, I know at least 2 dozen guys/girls who ride Texas tracks (that's where I started my track days). Shoot me a PM if you ever want to talk to any of them.

I've been a lot of time in track days.
I really love it.
You can learn a lot of thinks, and after, you can see the difference between track and street..

Here in Italy it's very expensive...
First be sure to have new Tyres and good brakes.
Here i usually spend 290$ for one day at Mugello.

Helmet, suite, boots....

So, for me every time it cost 1000$ per day...
But i love it so much!
