I was chating with this guy i know, about the fact that Buell makes a 500cc bike that is a single piston. Which this would make a great starter bike. But he was saying how it wouldn't do very well at highway speeds. and couldnt handle much more then 60 for a long period of time. Can anyone else chime in about this bike?

There's a thread on here about touring with a Buell Blast (the 500cc one) and the person went one hell of a long ways with it.

As luck would have it, I actually took a Blast for a spin today. It's a fun little bike, "little" being the operative word. I'm 5'11" and I kind of dwarf it...and that's with the "high" seat. There's a low seat of 25.5". The "high" is 27.5". Anyway, it got me up to 60 quickly, but vibrates like hell at about 2k on the revs. I hear there's a good jet kit and and after-market exhaust that will get it up to 40+ hp. I liked it, but I can't really see myself riding one. It really is about the size of my wife's scooter.
Thanks!
