What's the average mileage guys ride a year? How many did over 50k miles on their bike this past year? 30k ? 20k ? 10k ? 5k ? I put on less in '07 than I'd done in years mainly because my new wife was insistant that I get rid of my bikes before she'd marry me! LOL,but I got a couple more bikes after a few months so.... all's right with the world again.I only did 8k in '07. :)

Started the year with a Vino 125. Put about 1k miles on that and in March I trade it in on a Yamaha Majesty. Put 7.2k miles on that and traded it in on a 2007 Virago 250. I put 2300 miles on her from August to the end of the year.

500mi on a Rebel 250
3800mi on Vstar 650
1250mi on Vstar 1300

5550 total miles -- next year I'll try to double that :D .

I've been out of town for work alot the last two years but I still average 800 per month these days and ride all year long. When I'm not traveling it is around 16 to 18,000 per year. About 1/2 of this is on a Sportster.

Like others have said this was a bad year for me and mine.

The wife's medical crisis, and some significant property projects before her problem kept me off the road.

I only logged about 1500 on the Valkyrie, and 700 breakin miles on her VTX1300. :(

But I promise to try harder next year!

next year my wife and I plan to take more trips ,as I like co fats didn't get to ride as much because my wife had a bought with cancer last year, I also run my own business and must drive a cage all day most days I do vending service repair so we must have a lot of parts with us all the time , Biker Bob P.S. if any one is thinking about getting into vending check out our site .www.bvrsales.com or for questions go to ask doctor vending .com.

3000 on the new Harley this year .

According to COFats, Harleys are not capable of going that many miles without breaking down, so you must be lying. Same with the 4K I put on the FXR. :D

I got my S50 on Aug 5 of this year, and between three services, rain and living in the Northeast (Albany, NY), I just rode it last Saturday, (yea, Dec 28th) and I turned 9936 miles on it........I hope next year I will break 20k for the whole year.........LOL.......Planning a few trips next year. One to Southport NC and since I bought the wife a Virago 535, I hope that we can get away from the kids....for the whole damn summer.............by the way...any thoughts on Chatterboxes????

We have two HD's and we average over 10-15k on each bike. My commute to work and back is 140 miles and of course that eats up the mileage. We ride 2-up as the OL prefers sitting behind over riding beside me. We have a touring EG and a WideGlide. We prefer the WideGlide though extreme distances and packing weight will dictate what we ride. The older I get the harder it is to hold up our EG so we fall over a lot. :(

Bought my C90T on April 2nd and rode 7,800 miles in about 7 months. Not bad for an old guy!

I put about 8500 miles on my '06 Custom and about another 1500 on my OL's '73 Superglide. Hopefully next year will be better.

I said HDs could not do big time contiguous miles with out roadside breakdowns and repairs! You gotta tighten everything on them every 100 miles of hard steady riding.

Say BTW I had an interesting tidbit of news from my neighbor just tonight. He is a HD owner/builder/enthusiast extrordinaire. Told me new HDs have METRIC hardware (nuts and bolts) on them.

Damn them Amuri-cun rice burners! Can this be true?

My Chevy truck is exclusively metric fasteners, our Volvo is all English, how does that work? At least it's better than the Explorer which mixed the two, now that was a pain. I had to go buy a metric crescent wrench.

everything on my buell is standard. unless it is made in japan, like the suspension/ brakes. those are metric. it sucks having to switch from standard to metric.

Metric Crescent wrench, now that's good! I have a metric plier, believe that?

Seriously, though, I've had both sets of tools, because I've owned S.A.E. and metric vehicles. Also, I've been surprised by where I find a metric bolt! It's kind of crazy!

Despite the fact that I was joking, I do have one. Most of mine say 10", 12", 15", but one is 330mm.

Wow, I didn't even know they make them, since they're adjustable. That's neat. Can't claim that on my pliars! :)

think I did around 4k, but it's a big improvement compare to 11k for total 6 years before, all because I decided to come out of my own closet and ride the hell out of it. Used to be afraid of everything: rain, cold, wet road, .... Still am afraid of heavy rain and below freezing point cold, and, well, SNOW!, but other than that I'd just ride, just not in this frigging kind of weather right now in New England: snow on a warm day and really cold on a sunny day goddammit!!!
Hopefully I'll be able to take my bike out next week. Supposed to be around 40.

I love it. Metric crescent wrench and metric pliers! I keep mine on the shelf next to my left-handed coffee cup.:D

I tried one of those left handed cups once, but even for a Norwegian, it was tough. I kept spilling on myself! The opening goes down on those, doesn't it?

I used to have a Sportster 1200 till my dad borrowed it and ran it into a station wagon head on at ~60mph (yes, he lived, but JUST BARELY).

It was by far the most maintenance free and reliable bike I EVER had. Very truly just "gas and go".

Oh come on, you guys! Ride 47,000 miles like I did without doing anything other than adjust the chain and put different tires on my Suzuki, and then you can brag about it! :)

307T - I have nothing against other bikes, because I've never had anything other than a Suzuki, so I can't honestly make a comparison. I like to tease guys about it, but when things get serious, I could care less what people ride. I bought another Suzuki because I've had good luck with the previous two, that's all. What the heck, I might have that good luck with a Honda, but I doubt it. (For Fat's benefit!) :)
