Has anyone used them? What are your expierence with them?I like them and have heard good things about them.My problem is I hate to spend $500.00 or so on a set and not be able to transfer them to my next bike.I bought a 2005 V-star 650 Classic and am enjoying it very much. However I feel that I will want to upgrade to a bigger bike like a 1100 or 1300 before to long.Does anyone know if there is a universal bracket that can be used with the Leather Lyke bags were I could put them on another bike later.Any input would be appreciated. Thanks tradrick

I've had Letherlikes on my last 4 MC and really like them.

I don't believe they have a universal mounting bracket available though. I bought mine at about $400.00 per pair.

My bags have actually prevented some damage to my MCs when we dropped them! Each of our MC have engine/crash bars as well as the bags. My wife dropped her 3 prior MCs a number of times at low speed (very low speed) and sustained no damage to her MCs and only very very very slight damage to her bags. I figure those $400.00 bags saved me at least $400.00 in damage cost

I dropped my Valkyrie once and same story - no damage to either bags or MC.
Not saying they are iron clad, but sure were worth their price for us.

Ride safe & long,

I like the Pleather or leather lyke bags fine. They hold up well and do the job without deforming after they get wet.

I have a friend who had both Leatherlyke hard bags fail on his Four Corners ride, they cracked at the mounting points. He's had a horrible time with their customer service getting them replaced under warranty.

Thanks for the replys guys.Uesque,I've heard the same thing about the cracking around the mounting holes.A buddy of mine has the Leather Lyke hard bags and fount a online source that made a aftermarket bracket that beefed up the area around the mounting holes. So far he says it workes great and made them rock solid.I personally have'nt seen them yet.We have'nt had a chance to ride since he got them on.If you would like a link to the guys site that makes the brackets, for your friend,PM me.Ride safe tradrick

I agree with cofats, my leatherlykes saddlebags also saved my 1100 when my buddy cut me off, during a ride(not intentionally) Now I can't rid of them. I have a few scratches on them, but they're so durable, that it did not even hurt them. 400dls they're wellll worth it
