Swapping gears in trans

[I] have a Revtech 6 speed trans...The case is all buggered up....I Was told that it was a standard 5 speed gear box and I could use any standard 5 speed case and swap out the insides? Is this true?

are there any numbers on the case you can cross ref them to harley good luck.....branch

Yes the rev tech numbers are on the case
