Moderators; how about a category here for Buell? Contrary to popular belief, they're NOT Harleys (ask a Harley guy) and should not necessarily be lumped in with them. Thanks.

I agree it would be nice to have a Buell category also.

Tell us about your bike or bikes and how you like the Buells. I keep looking at them and have yet to ride one, but like them.

I have four bikes at present; a Yamaha XJ550 Seca, an '85 Nighthawk S 700, a Suzuki GS550T and, of course, the Buell; '99 M2 Cyclone. This is a tube-frame bike (pre-XB) with the Buell race kit (header, pipe, ignition unit and carbon fiber "ham-can" with K&N filter, plus I threw in a set of Andrews N8 cams and a Mikuni HSR42 at the same time. The transformation was astounding....all traces of civility and good manners vanished!:D I'll be the first to admit this bike's not for everyone. It suits me just fine, though.
Handling; I wish I could ride as well as this thing handles. Just a twitch on the bars and you're peg-deep in the twisties. Gobs of torque; down low where you need it. The power band with the cams runs between 3K and 6800 (redline) which is quite a bit different from the Japanese IL4's with their 10-13K redlines and long powerbands. I love it, though. When it gets on the cams (3K plus) it pulls like a freight train and the sound makes the little hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I don't call it B.Rex for nothing......a bit like a T.Rex on rollerblades, I think.
You're probably leaning more towards the XB's, no? Nice machines, though I've yet to ride one.

What mods are you looking for? I can get you about anything you want, and install it for you as well, (if you need me to.) PM me with specific mods & needs. Where in Illinois are you located? I'm just south of the WI/IL border.......B.Rex
