Hey, all. Any Vulcan 500 owners out there? I need a new commuter and think this would be a good bike. Anything good or bad you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Never owned one but know folks who have. They are a pretty good bike all in all. They have the same engine as the Ninja 500 with a few changes.

Yeah, I'm aware of all the specs. Guess what I'm looking for is reliability, mpg's , problems, etc..

Thanks!

I don't think they make an unreliable bike these days. Gas milage should be around 50+, I get that out of the Ninja easy.

Cool! I'm definitely gonna check one out this week. Keep ya posted.

Two words, CB: Lifan motorcycles

Euro/US/Japanese/Korean bikes are reliable, for the most part. Too much competition, they can't afford an Edsel or Pinto.

Pintos are cool with a 302 in them :D

Pintos are cool unless you get hit in the rear, then they're really hot. I'm actually a Ford fan, we have an Escape and a monster F250 Crew with the 7.3-liter Diesel. Explains why all my bikes are vintage ;)

I remember the exploding Pintos.:D

I bought a new 2007 Vulcan 500 this summer. After being away from riding for 30 years, I love this bike. Handles well, no problems, fast, plenty of power, looks great and not expensive. What more do you want? Get about 50 mph.
