I have a 1997 Virago 750 only 5000 miles on it great shape I would like to know if anyone out there have removed the inner pipe in the muffler and if it would hurt the motor, also if you do remove it will you have to rejet the carbs?? or would you just leave it alone?
Thanks

You probably wouldn't have to re-jet the carbs for that as but you'll have to check the plugs after you do it. If your pipes are like the ones on my 1100 Virago I had you really can't remove the insides without doin' something irreversable without owning a welder. There is like a cap on the end that comes off but it was just a decorative piece, no real change. I would let them alone.
There are however, tons of slip on mufflers out there for the Virago and some are very affordable. before you buy call their tech line and ask if there is a need to re-jet with their slip ons, my guess is no.
Nice bike BTW.

cuz after i removed mine (on slip on pipes i bought) i had to rejet my 96 virago
there was no way around it
