Hi, I just purchased a 1980 Honda CB650 off ebay about a week ago and just picked it up today.

The bike isn't running right now and I will be needing help in the near future.

I also purchased a Clymer manuel.

I tried to post a pic but it wont let me yet.

Just drop your questions here. You got the most important tool, a manual. Drain all the fuel and oil out of it first. Change the oil, clean the carbs (you'll need to at least take the float bowls of and remove the jets out to clean them and the float needle and seat) put in some fresh plugs, charge the battery and put in some fresh gas and most likely it will run.

This is exactly what I did when I got my 31 year old bike last month. The PO couldn't get it running so he sold it to me for $300. I changed out the fluids, put in a new battery, and cleaned the plugs. She started right up.

Good luck!

Just read your clymer's manual, most of the general type maintenance is real easy and they take you through it step by step.
Try and do as many things as you can to your bike, that's how you learn.

If you have any questions or problems, this ite is here to help you, all good people.
