I recently purchased a 2005 Honda Shadow Spirit with 275 miles. The bike hasn't been on the road in about a year and a half. The motor runs rough when started and tends to stall when the choke is pushed in. When I put my hand behing the exhaust pipe to the rear cylinder, the exhaust is cold, the front cylinder exhaust is hot. When I pull off the sparkplug boot of the back cylinder while the engine is running, there is no noticeable difference in the way the engine sounds/runs. I did change the gas and fuel filter but no change. Does this sound like a bad ignition coil? Does this sound like a clogged/dirty carb? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced

Sounds like the carbs to me. You'll have to pull them, disassemble them and clean them real good. The jets may need a wire ran through them to get the varnish out of them. Replace the plugs also.

Did you check the plugs?

I replaced the sparkplugs on each cylinder that is visible. There was no change. I'm taking the bike in to the shop tommorrow for a carb cleaning and tune-up.
