65 Triumph front end question?

I'm rebuilding a 65 Triumph Bonneville 650 bobber that used to be beautiful, til it sat outside for years:( ! I'm finally doing it, and the engines apart. My question is - is there a bearing conversion kit or anything available where I can use a springer front end that's most likely set up for a harley on it? Or will I have to have the frame cut and have a harley neckpiece welded on to do that (something I can have done, but would rather not do).

Well when I was involved in building customs everyone made stuff for the Triumph as it was chopped as often as Harleys. For sure there's about every type springer around made specifically for trumpets, whether they still are making them is another question. I'm surprised no chopper supply place has hit on our forum. It's a great bike to build, has good sound, good speed, and a lot of heart. Post a photo of what you got and when you finish.

most harley neck stems are one inch and the Triumph's are smaller.

The Triumph timkin bearing conversion kit has a one inch inner diameter, but you'll have to press out the top dust cover that is inserted to compensate for the smaller Triumph stem size... that should do the trick...

i did the same thing on my 71 tri i have a springer front end i had the 1inch bolt machined laythed down to fit the stock bearing .. works like a carm only cost $20 buck at a local chopper shop !!! i will start a build thread soon.
