The Ride For Kids benefits the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and has rides scheduled all over the country. It is extremely well managed and organized, they work on a shoestring so all the money goes to the kids, but still put on a very impressive ride.
I got involved because my sister is a 15 year survivor of a brain tumor, and I have a 2 year old cousin currently waging his own battle. He was the hit of last year's Pittsburgh ride, he stole everyone's hearts.

Please try to attend a ride in your area. Your support benefits real people who are really important to me.

Update with more information:
OK, I told myself after last year that I wasn't going to be as obnoxious about the RFK this year, but I just got an e-mail that my young cousin is not doing so well, and the not being obnoxious part will have to wait for another year.
It's time for the 2007 Ride for Kids!

The Ride benefits pediatric brain tumor research, a cause near and dear to my heart. My sister is a 17 year survivor, and I have a 1 year old cousin currently undergoing treatment. This is him:

We just received some very sad and depressing news about Zack, his tumor is growing very aggressively, and they've advised my cousin to get his Make-A-Wish trip in soon. If you're considering participating or donating, the help is desperately needed as are your prayers for him.

That is sad. Anything bad that happens to kids is sad. He is in my thoughts.

Sounds like a good cause. I'll look up the info on the St. Louis Ride. If there are any riders close that plan on going shoot me an email and we'll meet up.

OK, one last update before the ride. As of noon, I'm at $3,450, which is well over my stated goal, way over last year, and largely the result of one very generous donor who has remained anonymous, but thank you again. Hopefully we'll get some last minute donations to put us at a nice even number.
Weather looks good for Sunday, and I'll post pictures on Monday.

It was a great ride, and see below for the total raised:

That's my Sister on the far right, and my cousin on the far left. I raised $3,455 total, which despite being almost $1,000 more than last year, was still only good enough for fifth place overall. That, however, is good news as it means that totals were up for this year, as was the grand total, by about $7,000.
Thank you all for your support, it means the world to the kids.
