View Full Version : Renting Work Space

Since I really don't have a place to work on motorcycles at my house, due to weather and space restrictions, I was thinking about renting space from a mechanic. I figure during the lean months (now 'till whenever the Western NY area un-freezes in the Spring...that's like June , right?) if I rent some corner from him, he gets an income and I, in time, will be able to sponge off of his mechanical knowledge while I learn to work on my own bike. Just for the space. What would you think was reasonable? $50 a month? $75? I should at some point remind you that this will be a hobby. I'm not trying to start a new career. The first step would be to actually get a couple of parts and pretend it's a "rolling chassis”. LOL

The mechanic I have my eye on did my State inspection and is known by my GFs father. We're talkin’ a lot of years in the same location but quite frankly, a little dirty and grimy.

If he's not on his last leg he would want to be. Of course if I lived down the street from Orange County Choppers, I'd give them a shot first. And HEY, they don't need the

money!
