odd question<--

hey guys i am 13 and really into motorcycles my dad has 06" Suzuki Bandit 1200 i ride on it alot to the Rock Store and the local bike night anyway it has always been a dream of mine to be a motorcycle mechanic and he told me if i wanted to be go i should start praticing now and i was wondering if u guys have any suggestions of something i could buy and practice on, taking apart the motor puting it back to geather, cause i work on my BMX alot but i want to get into more mechanical things anyway Anything helps THX!

Hey munch,
I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure most of us started the same way more or less. I started with small engines like lawn mowers, mopeds, and the like.
This gave me the basic understanding of 2 and 4 cycle motors both air cooled and liquid cooled. I too messed with bicycles and before ya knew it, I shoved a lawn tiller motor into a stingray bike frame and had my first motorcycle by the time I was 11. Then it was only natural to start modifing it and helping with my friends projects. Over time, you tend to collect more tools, knowledge, and before ya know it your off to tech. school and wrenching for a living. Some of us have taken our skills and work for ourselves in our own business's like mine.
Your doing the right thing......ASK QUESTIONS! It usually doesn't cost a thing and you can gain alot. One other thing, develope your imagination. You'll find that with a little imagination you can just about overcome any problem and enable you to create some awesome machines.

I started off on my bicycles, moved on to my motorcycles, and then the car. More and more bikes are going computerized, so you almost need to plan on some schooling after HS.

well thanks man i appreciate it one of the very few forums that answer my question hehe so it would be ok to start out on like a gas scooter or something like that a pocket bike? because i would definitly go and get one just im having trouble finding one ofr cheap hehe my 13th bday is in like 10 days so im thinking of asking for one of thoes lol (that is really odd asking for a lawnmower) like this one ( minipocketrockets.com/cagllari-pocket-rocket/ ) that one is a respectiable price but how problem is how much will it be to ship it to my house but i like their upgrades section it is awesome it is basically a motorcycle for kids. Anyway lets hope i get enough money im hoping for 200$ and this baby is mine. and for chrismas ima get that SIKK TOY'S exhaust pipe hehe and whatever other upgrade i can, thanks again see ya guys around ima check out some posts maybe post a couple more times. :D
