Has anyone has any experience with getting a helmet painted? I was thinking about adding my bikes name to it? Perhaps a place that pants car?

Yes, check with the auto paint shops to see if they can give you any referals to custom pinstripers.

This is an old post, but for those interested I paint helmets. see my site

I do anything from simple airbrush on a novelty helmet, to complex and detailed designs.

I just went to your site – very nice work! I really liked the Crown Royal paint job. I should get my dad one for Jack Daniels. I'll add your site to my list of places that serve bikers – and pass it along as appropriate. Keep up the good work – very nice!

Jack Daniels huh? He and his mexican friend Jose used to hang with me in the old days. I think I might do a JD helmet for the showroom, thanks for the idea.

What are you trying to do to these helmets? I've painted quite a few.. it's easy, sand it down really good before your repaint.

I don't understand what you are asking, but the link is to the wrong page, there may lie the confusion. Here is the correct link to the helmets,

I did eventually paint a Jack Daniels helmet for myself to wear. I don't want to sound arrogant, but my work takes more than sanding real good, it actually takes talent. Would you be willing to post pics of the helmets you painted?

I'll certainly vouch for what you do being difficult and taking some talent – and experience! I tried my hand at it many years ago using my dad's compressor and paint gun. I did a great job of sanding, and I got the primer paint on very nicely, too. That was when the disasters started. First, it isn't easy to set the compressor and the sprayer head (or whatever it's called). Then, even if you get lucky and get the first coat on properly, the second coat runs or drips or makes bumps. That's when you start sanding AGAIN. And did I mention cleaning up the spray gun? That could be a career all by itself. I spent that night rubbing cream into my completely disgustingly dried out hands. And that sums up my panting career. Keep up the most excellent work!

I had no problem painting my lid to match my ride. The bike was already black and $3.29, a trip to Home Depot, and one rattle can later presto
