I have a 1980 Honda 750c with some carb woes. A friend gave me this bike and said "if you can get it running you can have it". He said the honda shop said the carbs were shot. I got some carbs off e-bay and they looked clean and good. The problem im having is it wont run without the choke on. If you put the choke full on it runs pretty good down the highway, but let the choke open a little and thats the end of running good. Please Help. Thank You. Brad

There are a lot of things that could cause the problem you are have.

Most likey the low speed jets have crap in them. Clean them or replace them. Don't forget to do the high speed jets (as long as you are already in there).

Look for an air leak. Are the rubber boots that connect the carbs tight? Do you see any cracks in the rubber?

Make sure the gas lines are tight. If they leak air, you will have that kind of a problem. If those are the original gas lines... replace them. Made it easy on yourself too. Use clear plastic lines. That way you can see air bubbles if it is getting into the gas.
