Restoring a 1948 FN XIII. Anyone know of a good and cheap chrome plating place. Or any alternatives to chrome? I live in Atlanta, GA. THANKS.

I know a hell of a lot about bikes but damned if I know what bike you're talking about. I built bikes myself and sold a bunch to an Atlanta outfit called Bean & Bean...couple of decent dudes...brothers. I was also in business with a real hard core MX guru called Zappa who had a shop in Atlanta. I was a motorcycle inspection mechanic for eight years and worked on all kinds so please...so people will know what your talking about (this ain't just you) give the brand name and engine size so we can at least get an idea of what you're up to.

If this site ever gets going I hope to have links to Platers and other services for bikers, parts, etc. Hope one of the members can help you out.

The Bike is a 1948 FN (Fabrique Nationale) Type XIII. Made in 1948 in Belgium. Its a 350cc, single cylinder.
