I have a 1970 Cb350 that has run excellent ever since I bought it, I left it out in the rain one night and ever since I havent been able to get it running right.

At first it woudlnt even idle, but now i have it working well enough that it will idle and ride fine, but eventually char the hell out of my plugs. I have the mixture screws set to factory specs. Could it be my valves? What else? If it's the valves wheres a good source to learn how to adjust them, I have the Haynes book but it doesnt give a how-to.

Thanks!

Well N2K the CB350 has a points cover with a rubber seal. Since the problem started after a rain it is probably ignition. It's possible the cam chain jumped a tooth but it's my hunch the problems in the points or coil. Take off the points cover and spray with ignition contact cleaner (the stuff kills wasps great too) check the cover gasket (any moisture inside the points compartment will cause what you describe) There is another spray called Ignition Dri or you can just let evaporation dry things out before replacing the cover. From there (if that doesn't fix it) I'd go to the spark plug wires and replace them.
