Its nice to see vintage biker collectables still in some sort of affordable fashion. Unlike the muscle car boom, classic motorcycles are still reasonable. I would have paid 3 grand for a running Whizzer, I think they are cool

I've always liked the bikes of the 70's. Used to be that you could pick up a running CB750 in either F or K versions, a GT 750 Suzuki or one of the Kawasaki 900's for next to nothing or free. Back in 91 a friend of mine picked up a CB750 that was running, inspected, low miles and in excellent shape for $300. Anymore though it doesn't seem like you can do that. You can still find them cheap, like decent running examples you can ride home for less that $1000, but it's a hunt.
Who would have ever thought in 1971 that a Hemi Cuda convertable would eventually sell for 2.1 million bucks? Nobody probably or very few.
I imagine that there was one point in time where you couldn't give a Wizzer away. I wouldn't mind having either one of those.

At the risk of catching some flack, I have never seen these! Wow - I guess these were the precursors to today's scooters. Speaking of which, that Honda Silverwing is a whopping $10,000!!!!

Well the Whizzer was a kit that was put on a regular bicycle of the 40's & 50's. Fuel tank, engine, mounts, controls. I'm really surprised there's nothing available for modern 10-speeds, because of the gearing they'd get a lot more speed. A man in my town has a restored Whizzer that he rides past my home on summer weekends. It's whisper quiet and if you're not looking you won't know he's passed by.

I bet those Chinese have mopeds galore I'll have to check into that maybe get rich if gas prices get to $5.00 a gallon.

I toyed with the idea of getting a scooter to save gas ( and get a new toy) if the guys I work with wouldn't make fun of me.
I bet you can nitrous a moped.
