Solenoid clcks but motor doesn't start..any ideas?

Hi,
I have a Honda Rebel 450 cc. I just charged the battery, when i turn the start button the solenoid clicks several times but the motor doesn't start..Some one has any idea of what could be happening?

check the connection on the sol. and the starter, all it takes a bit of dirt or corrosion and no joy.... should fixit for you...... one other possibility is the starter is shot... but check the connections first, clean and tight are the buzzwords....

Just in case you starter hung when being cranked by a low battery; put it in high gear and roll it around to make the engine turn itself. If the starter is hung that will free it.

A slight tap with a hammer directly on the starter may also free it up or create contact for the brushes, if that works then the starter is on its way out. Have a nice day.
