I have a project in progress I would like to share with all motorcyclists. If anyone with a disability wants to ride they should check this out. I got the love of my life and his friends working on modifying my bike for use with my wheelchair. I’ve got pics and step by step description of the project. We are so close to being done I can taste the wind.
Also (http://Also), I found some interesting articles and information to share with persons that want to overcome barriers to riding:

Last night was my first ride off the block. We actually went on the freeway the first time. Steve said it sounded like he was riding with a monkey. I was so nevous it was, "Ah, ah, ah, eee, eee, eee" the entire four mile stretch. Hwy 99 has lots of great big diesel trucks and angry suv drivers. We went to a little bar out in the country side called the Olde Towne Saloon. Each week they have a Taco Tuesday special. Each week we roll in about 7:30P for tacos. Only this time I was riding. Had a big crowd at the window greeting me. Everybody knew Steve and his buddies were building me a ride. I had a great time I'm going for another short ride tonight. I plan on riding to tonight's bike night. Okay, I'm hooked. I'm sold. I'm addicted

I like your thread and think it's worthwhile. Please post a photo. You can post up to 5 photos. No one can create quite as well as someone who is working to help the disabled. No one can inspire others like a person striving to overcome obstacles. I enjoyed the thread about the new trike for wheelchair users, but what comes to my mind is a trike that the wheelchair goes onto and clamps down. like a flatbed. I mean you need to have your chair when you reach the destination, right? Why transfer from one seat to another?

I like the flatbed design myself. Here is a pic of my finished bike. (I had to save it in black n white to reduce the file size.) It's true about needing to take the chair with you.

A Ural sidehack modified to accomodate a disabled biker is a fine example of the builders art. Doubt you'll see OCC doing any of that.
