Questions for a newbie

Hello all,
I am new to riding street bikes but I have decided to buy one. I have narrowed it down to a 2000 Yamaha r6 or a 2003 Kawasaki zx6r 636. Are they both good bikes? Which one is better for a beginer? Are they both street legal for the United States (both are currently located outside the US)? Becuase they are outside of the US does anyone know what kind of paper work I will have to do? Any one know of a good escrow service?

well where are they located because if outside the US means Japan there are some things that have to be changed but if outside the US means CANADA then they should be good to go as long as the speedo has MPH along with KPH

Go with the Kaw. I've heard a lot of good about the ride comfort and have at least 2 friends with them. Both are satisfied. I can'tsay about the R6 though, I'd just ride both a bit (if possible). I'd sooner say the two are even enough matches at the track, which defaults you into comfort...
