hello everyone,
I have a 1974 honda xl250 and have been having a real hard time gettin parts. its my first bike so cost isnt really playin much of a factor, just availability. anyway I have got everything but 2 things and I for the life of me cant find either. I need a oversized piston and a cam chain tensioner. I have tried everywhere(bike bandit, that was no help at all..to junkyards) and have got all the parts BUT those two.
any help would be very very appreciated, I dont know what to do without em...

thank you
-Kenneth

Give Dennis Kirk a shot. Its at www . denniskirk.com. Or you can try Rocky Mountain Motorcycle (just type that into Google and it will come up). Any Honda dealer should be able to get you the piston and rings. If they say they cant because its too old they arent trying very hard. Some dealers are funny about older bikes. Im almost certain Wiseco still makes oversized pistons and rings for yours. They make them for about anything else.

Ebay is a great place for old bike parts like Johnthekawman said.Either new or used parts. Ive bought a load of stuff off there. Johnthekawman check out partsnmore.com for Kawasaki parts too. Ive bought a good bit of CB750 parts from them and though they arent genuine Honda stuff it is low priced. Old Bike Barn is another good one. They have a good many of the decal kits also.

Ebay is sweet in 2 ways really when ya think about it. The first is you can buy damn near any part you need and the second way is you can sell off excess parts you don't need.I sold off about all the stock parts like the heel guards, grab bar, and bumper off my Raptor on there and used the money to buy Honda parts. Now I got to get rid of CB750K parts to buy more CB750F parts. It's insane how many K parts won't fit the F but the other cool thing is how many K parts will fit the F.
