ive got a 2003 fatboy,the chrome bolt fell out that holds the lockable latch in place on my sissy bar sideplate.harley dealer tells me to buy a whole new side plate( $105 )any ideas where i can match up this bolt-nut & washer?

I'd take the other one out and go to ACE hardware and buy a Stainless bolt the same size. I did this myself, Use removeable loctite when putting it back in.

Two thoughts, do you have a MC salvage business in your area? Look on line for replacement parts. Easier to find and likely cheaper than a dealership.

The HD catalog has a whole section of chrome bolts. I don't know what size the sideplate requires, but you might want to check the catalog (and possibly educate your LHD) to see if an exact replacement is available.

I really don't believe that just the bolt is not for sale. I've had to replace specific pieces off of kits before and never have had a problem buying JUST THAT PIECE or BOLT.
NOTE: I now this is an old thread...leaving my info here for future reference...if that's ok.
