The Black Widow is a sweet ride, but I'd change the engine out to a TP 124" and if the tranny is a Rev-Tech, it'd be gone as well.

Im not much a fan of choppers myself. If I had to pick a favorite bike that was on that show it be the one Paul Sr. built,I think it was the Keltic one. The Dixie Chopper bike was neat I though just because it was lawn mower powered.

Well when I was building choppers in the late 70's we thought we were breaking ground but really all the basic designs came out of California in the early 70's. The first choppers were dressers with all the spotlights, windshields, saddlebags, hydraulic seats, and other non-essential junk tossed. One of the nicest choppers around our town was a 450 Honda. Like early custom cars style never interfered with function. Fact is many choppers built today are non functional. A spike on the rear fender might look cool but not much fun when your ass slides back on it. Extended forks with a rake more than a few degrees beyond stock cannot make a tight turn...so paul can look good tooling down the boulevard but imagine in the city making turns in traffic with some of the junk they turn out.
I love motorcycles. I think they represent both independence as well as individuality and I know there's an ass to fit every seat. When it comes to choppers, I don't think anyone's making anything better than Bourget's basic model. All the rest is in the paint and added nicknacks. In fairness though I think OCC equals Bourget most of the time, and a lot of the junk is to the buyers special request.

Ok, my 2 cents worth then I'll shut up. The OCC boyz are just a short trip down the interstate from my shop in upstate NY. I have to agree with most of what Maico Shark had to say cept I was one of those guy's back in the early 70's in SoCal (Lakewood to be exact just north of LongBeach). I got into it because like most of my buddies, I couldn't afford a car but I could glue a bike together for just a few bucks, duct tape and bailing wire. Try that now. Back then you would be hard pressed to give those damn things away unless it was to another brother of the road. Like Shark, that started a love of all things 2 or 3 wheeled for me, but unlike now, back then there was a great deal more commradory that when't along with the bikes no matter who you where or what you rode. OCC is good entertainment and I think a direct reflection of the bike culture of today. Big Bucks, big ego's and alot of bling on what an old schooler like me would deem to be an otherwise clean basic machine. Beauty in it's simplest form. I think that when all the confetti is done flying around that the KISS ( Keep It Simple Stupid) system will prevail once again. Until then, I'll keep buildin 'em (had to become a MFG. to do that now, thanks to EPA), ridein 'em and given a wave and helping hand to every two or three wheels that I come across even if it's just snoopin around here.

When it comes time to live you have to do it for yourself,
When it comes time to die, ain't no one going to do it for you~!
I think we should get to try out the bikes before we really commit to a vote or two.

I liked the Jay Leno bike, I'm not really a fan of the long gangly choppers, I appreciate the art and craftsmanship, just not the ride or handling of a chopper.

O heavens no.... I LOVE my OLD SCHOOL CHOPPER
http://www.oslifts.com/osl-rd06m.swf has a video of my chopper. Looks like the video is in need of an upgrade to get rid of the fuzzyness.
But you can still see it. It is a blast to drive. Ya got to love the shocks on it - on the seat that is...
Engineers can build stuff with a pencil, but to build with your heart and hands is true craftsmanship - unless your not good with your hands. LOL
My chopper drives great and rides like it did in the 60's when it was built.
I am glad that not everyone likes to drive them, makes for more unique bikes and not the row of bikes that all look the same.
As long as they all get you in the wind.~!

I guess I am not a big fan of bikes that just assemble parts together for the flash and show.

Me either. I like a bike that I can ride for hours... daily... and on trips. Them choppers just look uncomfortable.
I liked the POW bike, although the Fire bike was a close second. Those bikes actually meant more than a flashy paint job and some fins.

I don't really like any of the OCC bikes listed. My favorite would definately be the Dixie Chopper! Chrome lawn mower motor, twin chrome blades spinning in the rims. Unique? YES. Also didn't they build the Caterpillar theme bike? If so that would rate #2 with me. So many of there theme bikes seem to follow the same pattern. Order in the parts, assemble the parts, weld on some extra theme related parts(wrenches for Napa-garden tools for Caddyshack etc.) Collect the check.

Hey All,
I'm not a fan of the "theme" bikes OCC produce...as has been said, top notch entertainment for the masses....but...???
I do have to admit though if I had to select 1 OCC bike that does actually raise my eyebrows is the limited series OCC production bike the Greenie.

I like the one where they had the big fight while they were building it, and then it wouldn't run, and then they just barely made the "deadline".
That bike is awesome.

As a fireman and Paramedic, of course the fire bike touches home for me. That's the one that gets my vote!

Love the carb on the Fire Bike! As a volunteer firefighter that bike really hit home with me.
Another bike not listed is a hometown favorite - the Manitowoc Cranes Bike. While Jr. and Sr. were here they also met with the high school chopper building team that my daughter is involved with. Cool stuff, good guys in person!

Of the bikes listed in the poll, I voted for the Statue of Liberty bike. While I'm not fond of the current trend towards swoopy "style", I did like this one. Plus the fact the copper was melted down pieces of the actual Statue... man that was over the top in my book.
My favorite so far, has to be the Leno bike. I get wood over that mixture of old and new! Which pretty much says I'm not a huge OCC fan.
