I just recently (1200 miles ago) purchased a 2004 H-D sportster custom 883 and I absolutley love it. At the 1000 mile point the bike was inspected and the oil changed -- i went with the synthetic, as recommeded. However, yesterday after riding for a few hours the engine lamp light flickered when i had her cranked up doing about 75-80. Of course this panicked me and i babied it till i got home to look in the manual to find out what this light meant. But the manual doesnt say what this means, only that it is a engine lamp indicator. Can anyone shed some light on what this indicator light actaully indicates?

Don't know why it came on, had a Jap Bike and it did the same at first then it went off, check with a tech. Also, don't use that crap synthetic that HD sells, use Amsoil or Mobil 1 for Motorcycles, if you want to have your bike for awhile.
