I was recently riding my 2005 Suzuki Katana 600 when my chain popped off and cut my clutch push-rod in half. I ordered a new rod and it came in the mail a few days later. What I did not know was that a small piece of the broken push-rod (about an inch long) was still inside my case. I put the new rod on and proceeded to try it out. I pulled in the clutch lever, it was noticeably harder to pull in. I figured it was because of the new rod I just put in or something, so I pulled a little harder than I should have and heard a snap :/
I dropped the bike down into first and released the lever, only to not move at all. I later realized that the broken piece was still in my motor and I got it out, put the new rod in again, only to have the same problem My bike won't move! When I drop it to first it lunges as if everything is fine, but does not move when I let out the clutch. I can also push it while it is in gear and the back wheel moves freely as if it is in neutral. I then took off the clutch cover and checked the plates, which seem undamaged. To see if they were working or not, I worked the lever with the clutch cover off and observed the plates. The clutch hub moves as the lever is being worked, but only one of the plates moves with it (the outer most one). I am a college student living in a state where I know next to nobody. I can't afford to take it to a shop. It is my only transportation, and I am currently walking 3 miles to school everyday. I would REALLY!!!! appreciate ANY kind of help or advice.

Thanks,
Brian

I am not familiar with Suzuki's, let alone an '05 suzuki. :D Can you remove the plates without too much trouble to inspect for damages on the insides/behind the plates?
