Well, Did a little trading and Saturday Ill be the owner of a 1980 Suzuki GS 1000.

I want to bob it because Ill barely be able to flat foot it..

What do I need to do to bob it with a mig welder and without doing alot of other mods exept the frame and still keep the signals.

Be specific.. This is my first bob.....

Just cut away everything that doesn't look like a bobber.

haha just kidding. It really depends on what you want.

I have seen some cool bobbers made with the old style rubber sided gas tanks.

The bike you show is either a hard tail or has a hidden shock like a HD softail.

Do you want a hardtail rigid frame or a frame with suspension. Your Suzuki has twin rear shocks not at all like the one you show.

You will either have to modify your Suzuki frame or get another frame.

Yeah.. sorry.. that's a hidden single shock. I was talking about keeping both rear shocks....

Do you want to lower it? Shorter shocks are an option then.

Lower the suspension, you should be able to find kits for that. If more is needed then possibly a different seat is available.(you'll probably change the seat anyway)
That was cool, hiding the electrics in a roll bag.

There is an outfit called Blue Collar Customs (or something similiar) that offers some kits and parts for Bobbers. I'm pretty sure I saw some seats while checking out their website.

Blue collar bobbers. They don't offer kits for the gs 1000

Is there anything close that you could modify to work?

A Suzuki 650. Don't matter anymore. Deal fell through. Turns out the other guy was just blowing smoke!

I was looking at the seats as I'd like to do a bobber at some point. I think they could be made to work with most anything.

That bike is definitely not rolling a stock GS frame....thats aftermarket frame for sure. Just take all the crap off....look at the bare frame and start cutting.

You cant get THAT look with a stock frame....but you can come up with something you may like.

This is my KZ440 bobber.
