I had a seven year old pair of boots fall apart recently, despite my best efforts to have them repeatedly repaired. Oh, I have other boots, but they are primarily for riding, and in the case of my job, I do have to walk around some and work standing.

I discussed this problem with the woman in motor clothes, and she showed me a recent addition to their line. At first these boots just seemed like another black pair of Harley boots--that is, until I put them on.

They are incredibly light in weight. I wore them on their first long maiden voyage today, and while they seem to be designed more for summer, they kept the cool air out. Being just high enough, they kept the wind out as my Sportster has forward pegs.

They have Vibram soles, and they grip well. The thing I like about them is that while the toe box is roomy, the overall all toe height allows me to comfortably fit my foot between the peg and the shift lever. One other pair has a pretty sparse clearance.

My goal was to find a lighter pair, with a comfortable but supportive lining and good arch support. They have my favorite type of closure, using both ties and zippers. That way I can adjust them to personal comfort, but just unzip them when I get home.

I walked around the dealership today (with two cups of stolen coffee), and they did not pinch at all. While they are not the cure-all for our primary riding needs, they have a place for me.

The new pair is on the left, my usual pair is on the right. Sadly, the worn out pair is gone...

They look really nice. What is the model name/number? If they make them small enough I might try a pair for myself.....or see if they have a womens' counterpart.....

My boot box says "Felix D95333" if that helps.

Worst case, print off the pic and take it with you. I really like them, and plan to wear them when I use the Sportster to get to a client's place of business.

Thanks, I will see what I can find tomorrow! Worst case, I will print the pic and take the # you gave me over to Carolina H-D. Who knows, maybe they do have something left I can buy. Not sure though, they're slated for last day October 16th. They didn't have a whole lot the last time I was there, for quick release clips. LOL

Kat, you have mail.

Duh. If you're going to take a picture with you, wouldn't it be better to take a picture of the boot box label.

...I have this camera...

Boy, that was about the dumbness thing I ever did.

Now get this. I take a picture of the boots with a camera. Then Kat asks me for the part number. So I go copy it down with a pencil, but I wonder if I copied the info good enough for her to do the correct research.

So I'm thinking to myself, "Gee, I wish there was a better way to get the info directly from the boot box..."

Then it dawns I me that I could take a pic of the label with the camera...

How I have ridden in traffic all of these years and not been killed amazes even me sometimes.

There are 2 boots that I like to wear. They're comfortable walking and riding.
Wolverine Pro Series 6" boot
Durango low boot, size zip
The Wolverine has a steel toe. I have to wear a steel toe boot at work, but these are the most comfortable working boots I ever had.
The Durango is a well made boot that I can walk all day in.
Here are the pictures of them side by side.

Thanks Louturks, I think you and I are on the same page.

Many of us use our bikes for work and commuting, that was the whole idea of buying my Sportster. It was a cheaper alternative to getting to the client or to his job-site.

My issue was how was I going to function once there. Now granted, the worn out pair of boots should have been recycled long ago. And it was a walk-through of a mall that made me realize the replacement was long overdue.

I must admit that these lighter boots might not be the magic bullet for a guy who only choses one pair of boots of which to own. But my furthest client is 42 miles away. Additionally, it got hot and muggy in my area this riding season.

These boots provide good ankle support and comfort while being lighter in weight. My advantage is that I also have heavier pairs. I do think guys who are in my same boat should go look into this alternative.
