1980 Yamaha 175 Dirtbike

Hi, I have a 1980 yamaha 175 dirt bike and want to fix it up so it runs a lot better. I cant find the model on it anywhere. I want to get a manual for it and rebuild the carb, etc. Any ideas where i can get some more info on what i've got and how to tinker with it??
Thanks!!

It could be a DT (enduro) MX or IT or a YZ maybe. The DT would have lights for the street (signals and so on) The MX would have no lights and a monoshock that runs under the tank (I had an 80's MX 175 as my first bike way back in 86 or 87) and be more like a play bike, the IT was an enduro type race bike with a small headlight and taillight and are generally blue with a plastic tank. The YZ would be a motocross type bike with a monoshock, generally yellow with a plastic tank. Worst come to worse take the VIN to a dealer and they can tell you what it is.

Thanks a lot. It has a plastic tank, headlight and tailight (no signals) the colors are all faded now to white. I think i'll go to the local dealer today and try to figure it out.
ps - you should see the air filter, must be 20 years of gunk buildup...this will be fun.
