Suzi GN400

Hello again from CO,

My landlord has a 1981 GN400x and I'm trying to get it running and buy it from him. My question: I can't seem to get any info as to the version of Mikuni carb it has......unless I take things apart to get to the top of it. It's a CV carb but no Identification numbers and I need them to get a rebuild kit............any ideas?
Thanks!
Willey

BikeBandit.com has online microfiche for many bikes. Maybe you should look there.

I've spent so many hours looking for stuff fo this bike the guy should GIVE it to me! thanks for the "bikebandit" referal but they only have the schematics that show the parts (that aren't available). I found one guy in Europe but he wants me to send him EUROS or Dollars in cash for a CD of the manual........not so sure about that
I'll keep goin' Thanks for the responses

It's it's a Mikuni BS36SS which is a constant velocity carb with VERY few rider adjustments. It was used to provide the best "all around" performance but it actually makes the bike "bland". PLUS parts are about as available as "hen's teeth". I moved to a later model but cannot tell you which one at this moment. The whole bike was abandoned after just one year as it was supposed to be an "entry level road bike" but was actually just a motocross bike with added signals, lower shocks and a different seat. As all the other manufacturers went to twins by that time, Suzuki followed suit the next year. They LOVE them in Europe to this day but not here in the States. So, I've turned mine into a "Bobber' of sorts... I'll see if I can shoot some pics to the Forum this weekend.

Paint them, or you can order colored spokes. They also made a mag wheel but it's ugly IMO
