Honda Shadow Parts Interchangability

I tried searching to see if this question was asked, but it returned too many or no results... perhaps my searching abilities are a bit dull, but I have to ask.

Are the Shadow line of motorcycle interchangeable when it comes to parts?
For example would a 02 Spirit front wheel fit on a 00 ACE?

If parts are interchangeable are there any restrictions to the years?
For instance 00 - 04 are pretty much the same bike, but after that they are not (this is only an example)...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Rick

You can either call a honda dealer in the US and hope that you get a parts guy who doesn't have much to do that day...or you can go to www.bikebandit.com and type in the year of your bike, note the part number, and then type in the year and model of the bike you're getting it from. I just had to buy a bunch of parts for my 03 spirit (I think it's a spirit...I know it's a VT750DC) and I found that the 01-06 parts are all largely identical. Just make sure you check the differences between the Shadow models because the difference between one model or the other could be the part you need (for example, the difference between a spirit and an ace is the handlebars or the rear fender).

I'm looking for a batwing fairing to put on my Shadow... doesn't seem to be a common thing for the Shadow models. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could pick one up?

I contacted a guy on EBay about a 750 Shadow ACE he is selling. The front wheel was a 19" OEM Spirit wheel... now the problem is actually finding a place to get one of those.

I think it is safe to say that within 4 years (+ or -) parts are going to be interchangeable within the Shadow lines, but the Spirit has been the common denominator when it come interchangeability.

If I am not mistaken the ACE line of Shadows changed in 04 to the Aero.

Also I have been doing a lot of reading in regards to the Batwings... Memphis Shades make a Shadow Sabre (1100) Batwing and it will more than likely fit on the other models. I was reading an article somewhere (too many to remember now) and the guy had an 01 Shadow ACE with the Sabre Batwing on it. Minor modifications to make it is all he stated.

It is a memphis shades batwing fairing. Memphis shades has not updated their website and they do not show all the bikes they now make the batwing for. When I contacted them they told me that they had it for my bike and many more were in the works for different bike's. Memphis shades said the batwing they had for the ace right now was only for the deluxe model (upper chrome fork covers is the deluxe I think) and that I could use the hardware off my memphis shades fats as long as it had the quike release trigger locks. Once I got the fairing I removed the hardware from my windshield and put it on my new fairing, took about 15 minutes, and it goes right back on the hardware that was still on the bike the windshield attached to. The fairing cost me $219 with tax, and the windshield was around $80 with tax. You can order the windshield in 5, 7, or 9 inches high, I have the 9 inch one but they say a 11 inch one will be out soon. I see a ebay seller has the memphis shades batwing for $164 plus shipping for the Honda sabre, maybe you could email him and ask if he could get one for the ace and get it cheaper than what I paid, since you can not order from memphis shades, but have to order through one of their dealers.

Mike R.

Thanks for the input... Not a bad price either... I could put one on mine up for under $400.

Thanks for the info on the ACE Deluxe too... I was curious at to which model I truly had. According to the model number I have the Deluxe (as well as the chrome fork uppers), but some sites I had read must consider the Deluxe and ACE models the same... well I guess they are except for some chrome

I went to MS dealer and he called his distributer to order them, the distributer said they didn't make them for my bike, then he call memphis shades to get the part number, and called the distributer back with the stock number and ordered them. You may have to call Mary at customer service (she is very helpful) at mamphis shades to get the stock numbers since the dealers and distributer dont to be up on their information. When I google memphis shades batwing for 750 ave, I dont get any good matches for a fairing for a ace, the only thing I seem to find is ones for a honda sabre, and some for different harley, and I'm pretty sure mine is not the same one as the sabre one. You can find a MS dealer near you on their website.

I just phone MS and got the part numbers. This will fit Honda Shadow ACE Deluxe (front chrome upper fork covers) chain drive models. The batwing fairing number is 2330-0016, and the attachment kit is 2321-0059. Any of the windshields for the batwing fairing would work. I found them on e-bay offered by Bikerhaven Wholesale. They sell the fairing, attachment kit and your choice of windshield for $299.95 plus $20 for shipping. The e-bay item number is 110381588933. As of 4/28/09 they have 5 in stock and the item is good for another 26 days.

Mike,

Can you tell me exactly what type of setup you have for the audio system. That's exactly what I am looking to do with mine. I don't want to pay the $ for the Honda version. I think it's grossly overpriced. I like the idea of the windshield bag with the amp & speakers. I'd really appreciate if you could give me some part numbers for all the items or where I could purchase them. This is exactly what I am looking for. Good Job!

If you contact vidsonix (http://www.vidsonix.com/vx_marine.html) you can order the 3" marine speakers for $20 with shipping, they are the mx-6003, make sure you order them in black since they also come in gray and white. Find a nice large windshield bag to mount them in and go on ebay and type in motorcycle amp and find the smallest one with a mp3 input. Google DWG speakers and you can find a amp that works good, but it is around $50 dollars with shipping, but they do have a cheap $9.95 handle bar mount for a mp3 player.

Scott, It was the cheapest I could find, won it on ebay for around $9 with shipping. There is one on ebay now for a buy now price of $17.50 and there is one with 1 day of bidding left at 1 cent with $5 shipping. It is a tight fit to get everything in the small bag.

Do they make one for the ace deluxe for people that have a light bar?

If so what would be the part number for that?

The Shadow line is quite diverse with the Shadow, Shadow Spirit, Shadow A.C.E., Shadow Aero, and all the variations within each model. I currently ride a 1999 VT1100C A.C.E. (cruiser) but they also had touring and deluxe models with different gearing and possibly others (I'm sure I've left some models out, as I said the line up is quite extensive).

As for touring performance, my A.C.E. performed brilliantly on a 7,600 mile trip across the country and back. The only caviats would be the Vtwin motor vibration these bikes are known for at high rpm's (the single pin crank models), and a slight need for higher gearing for more relaxed hwy. cruising (maybe a sixth gear), this would also solve the vibration problems.

This may just be nit picking, I really love my bike and wouldn't own anything else. You can see pics of my ride on the "cruiser pics" thread in the cruiser forum.

I am a newbee to this forum so please forgive me if this is the wrong place for this question.

I was wondering if they made a bullet fairing for a 2009 Honda Shadow Spirit and if so where would be the best place to buy one.

Welcome. It is never good to tack your question on the end of another thread that is about a different subject.

Once you have the required number of posts, you can start your own thread; I think this would be the proper sub-forum. In the meantime, you might get an answer anyway.

Pop into the New Members forum and tell us a little bit about yourself.

Fairing for Honda Shadow Spirit 750 ?

Just joined this forum, hoping someone can assist me in finding a fairing for my 2002 Honda Shadow Spirit (750DC).... The Memphis Shades site doesn't specify one for my bike, but hoping for insight.

Cheers all.

Shadow Fairing

Greetings All,

Like many of you, I am also on the hunt for a fairing for my Shadow. I am new the the forum, and am not able to post links. However, if you go to ebay and paste 'Honda VT 1100 C Shadow Spirit S20T STEALTH WINDSHIELD' into the search this will bring you to the page of what I am currently looking at. It's not as nice as the Memphis Shades fairing, but is an alternative.

I'm gonna guess here and say that 1100C Shadow's are not all the same when it comes to batwing fairings. I have a Sabre and the price is totally different than for the Spirit. From what i saw it was about a hundred or more...more for the Sabre. I could be wrong. I didn't research it much.
