Not counting when I was in me Mum. She had to stop hill climbing because of Me

I was 5 when I started to learn, starting racing TT at 9.

if bicycle - 10. because I didn't even have a small bicycle to learn on before that (all adult size there). If motorized, 16, because my family wouldn't let me ride at younger age, in fact that was pretty common where I used to live. No license required then, only got it when I was like ... 25 because the US requires it

1996 Yamaha FZR600, first and current bike, and loving it. RIP Pat Taylor aka iamgumby

Learned to ride when I was 4 or 5 on a 5HP B&S powered minibike. I haven't been without a bike since.

Don't remember when I first ever rode, but I got my first minibike when I was 8 years old.

I bought a 1959 Triumph Cub for $100 from a widow whose husband had 6 bikes. It cost me everything I had saved from my summer job at the time.
I was 15 in 1962 and the bike was too good a deal to pass up.
I had never ridden anything with two wheels except a bicycle before that.
My Father went through the roof when I brought it home!

I also was 15 in 1962, when I got my license. Bought a 1950's era Sears Allstate Cruisaire. Paid $70 for it. Looked like a Vespa 125, 2 cycle. Fixed it up, painted it, and rode it for 2 years. Had a bike ever since and still ride. Currently have an 06 Yamaha V-Star.

Best guess is 23 for me. Started in 1971 or there abouts. It was during the first gas shortage in California. Damn that seems like a long time ago now. Been riding ever since though.

Oops!

10 years old on a borrowed bike, 14 when I got my own bike. I was not allowed to have a motor bike, so I bought one and kept it at the guy's house who sold it to me, and then rode it out from his house. It seized up, with minor damage because I did not know it was a two-stroke engine and you had to add oil to the gasoline. :-( I had just filled up the tank with regular fuel the first time it got low. Not good.

17 - 1971. Borrowed bike, some new Yamaha 100cc two stroke which I don't even remember the model. The owner thought I knew how to ride, I didn't dissuade him, and somehow survived with just minor scratches to both body and bike.

19 in 1961. My dad bought me a 50cc Yamaguchi, which was totally inadequate for my needs, so he gave it back to the dealer and got me a 250 Matchless. I currently have a Royal Enfield and a GB500. There have been about 50 others in between
