Here's some guidelines for you fine folks in our repair forum. These aren't rules, just helpful tips so we can most effectively HELP YOU!!! Which is, after all, why we are here in this particular forum.

-Give us as much info as possible. It's hard to give help if we have no idea what you're talking about. Be clear and concise! We will just have a good laugh and move on.

-If nobody answers your thread, it's because NOBODY KNOWS. Asking 15 more times in 15 more threads will not magically make us know what you need, and it just makes more work for me because we will just delete them.

-Pictures are worth 1000 words, seriously. If you have trouble describing something, whip out that digital camera and snap us some pics. If you cannot post one yet ask the staff for help (don't cheat).

-Videos can be helpful. Example "What's wrong if I hear this noise like ping-kawaki-ding-dang-dong-diddly???" Again, whip out that camera, shoot a vid, throw it up somewhere, and toss us a link. Just be sure you describe your link well. And don't be stupid and link to something bad, that is, unless you just WANT to be banned.

-New Members with less that 15 posts cannot post links. If you are new and need a link posted to help us help you fix your bike, PM the link to any of the Mods. We will review it and if it passes the mustard, we will add it to your original post. And if it's not something that has to do with getting your bike running, you're going to have to wait until you reach your post count (w/o cheating) and post it yourself.

-We cover a lot of the same problems over and over. You might try to search the forums for your problem. Chances are we may have already covered it. If you want to post a thread about it anyway, that's cool, I don't mind, do it. I won't jump on you for not searching and nobody else will either (they better not).

-Other than that, we all try to help as best we can, so help us help others. If you get it fixed, TELL US HOW YOU DID IT. Lots of times we spend loads of OUR time posting tips and tricks and NEVER hear back! That stinks! If you find a solution post it so the next time someone comes along with the same problem or question, there will be something for them to find with a search.

If you're new, we would like to get to know you, so you might take a moment and head over to New Member Introductions and tell us about yourself. Thanks for taking a few moments to help me help you, now go get posting dang it!

Check at the bottom of the main page for links to how to contact staff members for help.
