Question Vin Number look up for old Honda's

I'm am new here so I'll give a brief intro to what I have. My brother bought a new 1972 CB350 back in the year. It was actually manuf. 12/71. We traded/sold the bike back and forth a few times until it went into his garage 23 years ago and never saw sunlight until last Saturday. The bike is in great mech shape. Tank has rust fuzz inside but no other appearent problems. I have slowly turned the engine over using the kicker to make sure it's not frozen. All is smooth there. I plan to clean the tank and carbs first but I wanted to make sure I have the right model bike. My research tells me this is a CB350K. Does anyone know how to look up the 12 digit VIN thyat Honda used back then? I fond many VIN look-up sites but they don't recognize the older VIN numbers that are less than 17 digits.

I'll post pic's this weekend.
