Another Blackbird owner here...although XX owners call my 2001 a Redbird -one year only color.

Nice bike, Sandman. I have strongly considered getting one of the Blackbirds, as the ratings are high no matter who you ask. However, the one thing that has kept me from purchasing one is the size of the bike. When it comes to sport touring I want a bike that leans more toward the sport than the touring in the handling department. Just not sure I would be happy with one, regardless of how stellar of a bike it is, because it would lack the nimbleness of a full on sport bike. I'm thinking a VFR is probably going to win the race when it comes to my next choice. I'm really torn. She does look good in red but so do most women

You're correct, nobody would ever call an XX "nimble", but it's not a total pig. It does weigh about 550 wet. I'm in the Midwest, though, and you have to search out twisty roads- these things are super smooth and comfortable, and suit conditions around here.

You can't go wrong with a VFR, but those certainly aren't that much lighter. A notch sportier than an XX I guess. The best thing about VFRs in my opinion is the character and feel of the v four engine.

The 2011 VFR 800 weighs in at 474lbs with 107 HP. That's quite a bit less HP than my CBR is making and its quite a bit heavier (103 lbs more, to be exact). However, the 800s handle exceptionally well according to all of the sport bike mags. Its considered the best handling sport tourer out there by many.

Took Caryn out for a ride on the CBR. She has to get the new Corbin rear saddle broke in. Love the one I put on the front. I like the look of my solo seat cowl much better but the passenger seat looks pretty good for what it is.

My 2006 Yamaha FZ1 I purchased new in 2006, I modded the bike nicely with lowers PCIII Ivans FCE, several different seat options etc.

The SV650 that I built from a pile, That the daughter rides on the street.

My 1991 Honda VFR750, man I love this bike!

Does old School count? This is the 1985 Suzuki GS700E that I built for a "Build a bike race" it is now for sale if anyone is interested.

I really like the Suzuki you have. I understand the need for the full fairing on most sport bikes, but I am old school and like to see the mechanicals. I wish there were more of these half faired options.

I am in the half that DOES know what an RC30 is and would love to own one. They are highly desired (again, by those who know them), hard to find and never at a reasonable price anywhere within a few hours of my area. They appear to be in excellent condition. Congrats on owning a sweet ride.

2006 GSXR 1000

I sought it out because the internet says the 2005 and 2006 model years of this bike hold the production bike world record for 0-60 (2.25 seconds) and quarter mile (9.5 seconds). 11,000 miles and never been dropped. Other than an aftermarket handbrake handle and master cylinder (because there was a recall on the master cylinder), it's 100% stock as far as I know.

I can relate to that! When I was younger I used to jokingly tell people "if my Honda could cook, I'd marry it!"

Now I ride a Suzuki.

I'd marry my bike even with it's lack of culinary skill! I like to think I can cook well enough to make do.

1995 Honda VFR750. Purchased in June with 18,087 on the odometer and was last tagged in 2009. Went through the carbs, brake and clutch systems, flushed all the fluids, plugs, filters, tires, chain/sprocket set, and had the wheels powdercoated.
There is nothing like the sound of those gear driven cams. That alone is worth every penny of the cost.

All we see hides something else we want to see.

Someone offered to sell a 95 VRF 750 to me a month or so ago for $1800, when I was looking for my first bike. I would have done it in a heartbeat, but I had 3 days of experience under my belt from the BRC and didn't think it wouldn't have made a very good first bike. I probably would have gotten myself hurt on it LOL
I have a soft spot for Hondas, and your VRF is niiiice I hear they're a lot of fun to ride. Comfy too.

Thanks. It had just over 7,000 miles on it and I bought it from the original owner, so it's in great shape.
