This seems to be fixed now. Hopefully it is working for you as well, but if not you won't see this post.

Today I made a couple of short posts and was amazed at how slow the site was to show it rather than the box I type into. Is there that much advertising that my ad blocker is having to deal with?

I always thought that having that many ad blockers that they would be fighting each other and slowing the process down further. One or two if by the same author but that's all. Sorta take your pick and stick with it kind of thing. I'm not even sure two by the same author is good. Maybe I'm wrong in that way of thinking though.

Hey guys,

For those of you experiencing slow down, what browsers are you using?
I'm using chrome, and no ad blocker, and I am not coming across the slowdowns.

Richard.

The site seems to move better for me using Safari than it does using Firefox if that helps at all.

Are you running any plugins on your browser?

Rut row....plugins will make it run slower? I've looked for plugins that would work with this site and found none. But I probably don't know where to find any in the first place. Are there any that work with this site? Or are you referring to add-ons? There are bunches of those available. I've often wondered if some of them are causing problems.

Plugins and ad ons are essentially the same thing. They might not necessarily make things slower, but sometimes they might interfere with the site software. If you have one, try disabling it and see if that improves anything

It's not always playing well with tapatalk either. Some posts refuse to show up when you tap on the thread to bring it up. I use the timeline feature to show all of the latest posts and the last one by Kaptin K about the broken fuel gauge in the "What did you do with your bike today" thread won't display. If I transfer out of tapatalk to web view I can see the post in all it's glory. This is not the first time it's happened either - never had an issue before the update.

There are a bunch of posts missing from "What did you do with your bike today" thread. Is the database corrupted? Something is not right for sure. This issue for sure will make members leave if it is not fixed. I didn't think upgrading the site was a good idea and should have only added a new skin.

Although the site was upgraded and not much anyone can do about that now it was upgraded to vBulletin version 3.8.8 which is still an older version.

At this point in time, if it were me, I would create a copy of this site somewhere else and attempt another upgrade to a later version and do some testing and see if that fixes the problem. It is kind of too late to roll back the site because too much time has passed. Although that is an option, that would for sure be my very last and final option. That is if anyone did a backup before upgrading the site.

Found both. Also found some notes on Haiku Poetry.

The Web site you seek, cannot be located, but countless more exist.

Chaos reigns within, reflect, repent, and reboot, order shall return.

Windows XP has crashed, I am the blue screen of death, no one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked, today it is not working, Windows is like that.

Program aborting, close all that you have worked on, you ask far too much.

Your file was so big, it might be very useful, but now it is gone.

Stay the patient course, of little worth is your ire, the network is down.

A crash reduces your expensive computer, to a simple stone.

Three things are certain, death, taxes and lost data, guess which has occurred.

Having been erased, the document you're seeking, must now be retyped.

Serious error, all shortcuts have disappeared, screen mind, both are blank.

Running a rebuilding of the threads to see if posts will show back up. For getting the chat box back, can you try clearing out cookies?

The rebuilding will take some time, so I'll be back a little later when it's finished to see if things have improved. Do you have any examples of posts that went missing so I can double check if it worked?

A post was made that posts were missing from "what did you do with your bike today" thread.

Members post can be found here. This would be a good place to see if posts are rebuilding.

What did you do with...

There is still a 10 day gap like the image I posted. It is possible that no one posted in it for 10 days but I think that is unlikely as that is a popular thread. I honestly don't remember if anyone posted in that thread during that 10 day period. I just don't pay attention to post dates when I read the forums.

I think the main concern more or less now is that the site does not go back in time again.

Ok I see the gap now. Wasn't looking back far enough. Sending into tech to see if a re-sync is needed.

Heard back from the techs, and it seems everything is as synced as it's going to get, but I still see the gap. Running the rebuilding tool again, but do we know of any specific user post that is missing from that thread?

Threads that get that long tend to get quirky.
