Looks like that pesky Sidebar just won't go away. Is that what everyone else sees or do I have to go searching for yet another place to turn it off?

Now I thought I had everything that could be Diabled disabled and everything I needed to turn on turn on.

Awesome new look! But I too vote to get that sidebar off the view if possible.

... does the sidebars existence offer some sort of $ incentive/kickback to the forum owners? I guess we're stuck with it if that is true.

I like the new feature and apparent speed. But I hate change. So I checked the "classic" look in my user CP settings. Happy now.

I belong to a couple other forums that use this new platform and always thought to myself "why isn't this forum using it" I'm used to it and like it.

Only drawback is seeing a posting on the sidebar and getting sucked into a political discussion I wouldn't have never gone looking for in the other version.

I'm really trying to use the new format and have even gone so far as to change my browser text sizes. I've never ever had to do that but that's how much I'm trying. Even at the minimum font size of 20 with Firefox and Opera, the Reply box and the text used is so much smaller that it's nearly impossible to use after scaling everything back down with crtl -. That setting causes a lot of other problems too. I really don't think a user should have to make abnormal changes, though. Can't we get the new format to at least display all the different fields and text as they were with the Classic version? What I've tried by changing the browser text affects ALL other sites and I simply can't live with that. So I'm forced to go back to the Classic version just to stay compatible with the other sites I visit.

Suggestion then if you don't want to make that change for everyone. How about making another version for us old farts that need larger fields and the text, icons, and emoticans that go with it. Call it the Vision Impaired version. I'd really like to put my minimum text size back to the default which I think, can't even remember now, is 12. Then use the crtl + to bring EVERYTHING back to my normal view size. This is just wrong to ask us to change everything. But I thought I'd try to see what would happen and I can get close to something that workable but it just messed up so many other things that it isn't something I want to do or think should need to do.

Apparently you don't. I've done what they claim gets rid of it too but it's still there and looks like it will stay there. It's what they want. You can go back to the "Classic" version by click on the option down at the very bottom left. But I'm seeing some issues there as well. Just not worth trying to get fixed anymore.

@hogcowboy

Are you able to click on the dropdown above tot he left of the tool box?

There is a dropdown that allows you to go to a larger text box for ongoing chat, let me know if that helps.

Negative on the garage.

EDIT: And that's with the FULL version not the CLASSIC. Pain in the butt switching back and forth to make sure I'm giving you the best info possible though.

On it, sidebar toggle should be fixed.

Should have garage access in a few.

I have noticed the Quick Reply box is now bigger and the text isn't tiny anymore. The text could be one size larger for us old farts though.

I know my eyes are bad and it's probably right in front of me, but has the handy SEARCH button been removed from the primary panel? I'm certainly missing it if so. Maybe it should be flashing then. Buried on deeper panels I'll likely never use it again if that's where it is.

It is under the Tools button.

You can also click the blue search icon in the upper right corner.

Well I know the Tools button has it. But I truly questioned your answer about the blue search box. So once again the tiny print that causes me to use the crtl/+ to enlarge the print so I can read it bites again. Once I zoomed WAY out I could see the dang thing. Why the heck doesn't it scale up or down keeping the whole banner area in view which would keep the search button in view? I think I'm just going to switch back to the classic version an never ever try this new one again. I have absolutely no trouble with it.

See that darn G+ and Tweet thing? Is that caused by something I've done? Or is it something that came along with the format change? I've not seen it before and no other site I go to has it in my way. So is there a way to get rid of it regardless of where it comes from on this site?

And another question. Why does this thread unlike all the others not have the ability to drag and drop?

Hey there

The Google+ and Twitter icons were added to make it easier for members to share links to their social media sites.

The drag and drop was disabled for a short time, but it has been turned back on - I can see it in this thread on my side, are you still missing it?

Now that I know the Tweet and Google thing have been added I can see why I don't like them. My reverse color drivers let them thru where it shouldn't. All html but I'm not good enough with the stuff to know just what to change now that you've changed things. If I had your programming skills it would be a no brainer I'm sure. But I was barely able to change a few things to get what I got. It's STYLISH with different user styles. I butchered one and it worked okay with the exception of a few things that I've learned to live with. Guess I have to add another. I know my user style has several errors but it gets me mostly what I need to be able to see these forums. Which unfortunately few offer their own style to grab.

Here's a snap of my style showing the Tweet area in conflict.

Heya,

Not much we can do when using your own scripts and plugins, we are unable to support anything custom.

Sidebar toggle is fixed and drag and drop should be fixed in 48 hours. I have to cue the support team for the fix.

Ping us if you notice anything else we can look at.

Thanks for all the help!

I do believe that's what I said. I'd have to live with your big foot on my throat. I was giving a picture of what changed as an example, wondering if was you or me. Now I know it's your big foot. Totally different now than all the others. At least the classic is there until you get tired of that too. And here I was trying to help during all this. I'll just take my toys and go home.

Are you looking at the "Full" or "Classic" version? I've tried hard to stick with the Full version and just can't do it. I've switched back seeing that they didn't even offer to look at what I have a "suggest" a change that would fix it. The Classic is what I'll use until......it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell when you are no longer welcome.

Oh yes. I forgot. Yes, if I get rid of my reverse colors it's gone as well. I asked for help since they stomped on my throat with that google tweet junk but got the tuff titty thing. No other site I go to does that new header thing and I have no idea how to get rid of it with that new version. So I stick to the classic and stop trying to help other with this thing too. But I think we've just about got the bugs out so they'll be happy anyway.I'm done with it.

Is it not possible to edit your own posts? I was gonna edit a post, but didn't see a option to do it.

EDIT: nevermind, it's there now. Must take so many posts or something.

you only get a small amount of time to edit a post (I don't remember how long now maybe 10 or 15 min.) after that time expires you just have to live with what you posted lol

I just got an alert that I had been quoted in a thread. When I went to see what was going on, in case I needed to reply, I found that alert was pointing to something I had quoted from another member. That is bass ackward. It should have been telling them that I had quoted them. I already knew I had quoted them.

Okay as always a day late and a dollar short. I switch back to classic when I found it in the lower left corner because I could not find a way to see the new posts since your last visit option in the new version.

Garage
OK, @mo admin looks like I have garage that works, took the side bar off to test and everything is working well. The site is coming in a little slow compared to other V/S sites today, not sure why that is. Doing some additional playing around... Thanks for the upgrades

Wow, My computer went down, had to get a new one and imagine my shock at the changes when I was finally able to get back on, other than a few times on my phone with Tapatalk. Then our internet went down. I'm finally able to get back on this evening and when I did I supposedly had a new message. I clicked on it and there was none. If someone really sent me one, please try again.

Most of the time when we are comfortable with something and it is replaced by something new there is a learning curve which may or may not be easy. I really hope once I get used to this I will like it but right now I'm a little lost. If I get too lost would someone please come find me??!!?? LOL I'm determined and hard headed, I will figure this out, I hope.

I prefer the old site. This look is not really my style, but I don't really care util I can find the same people here.

This site is like an ugly girlfriend: You like her for what she is rather than for how she looks like. Hope not to offend anyone.
