I rode about 35 miles today to my office and then back home. 54 going to the office and about 40 coming home. Not too bad. Riding at night sucks on my bike though. Can't see much of nothing at low beam. People don't seem as prone to dim their brights when meeting a bike as they do meeting a car, even if said bike is dimming his own light. All in all, I was just happy to get to ride a little today!!

The lights on my bike are not really bright. I just leave them on high. I've only had 1 or 2 flash at me and they were tiny cars like the electric ones. That is the main reason I don't like to ride at night, 2nd are the deer around here.

Glad you guys got to ride! Great pictures Tank, nice bike!

It's raining here today. If I rode and got wet the wind chill factor would make it feel like, down to 60 or more.

Riding

Yesterday I went up Island and over to the big island, for some banking and shopping. Bought some 55 mm OD radiator hose and made short stacks for the 400. Later on taking advantage of the extra daylight, I dropped a dead cedar tree. Had big plans for it, but it snapped in many pieces. Was rotten up high. Would have been dangerous standing there. 10 feet of 6 inch cedar falling on your head could have been a problem.
Also changed the main jets in the 400, one size bigger. Now to hit the freeway for another land speed record attempt.

There's a fun sounding get-together here for a short ride down to Christmas, Florida. (It might be called Christmas Village or Christmas Lake or something. I'm not sure.) I won't be going because my wife has a ton of family coming over, but it did sound like a great little run.

What would you have done with the Cedar tree? (I'm curious.)

Cut it into usable wood? It isn't good for burning, is it?

I went for a ride today (about 68°, I suppose) across the Calif. border, up to the Lake Havasu Parker Dam, and back down Arizona. Nice ride.

I probably won't decorate the Christmas saguaro cactus this year.

On my property I have four steel posts, 14 feet high, 14 feet apart on the long side, and 11 feet wide. There are two cross beams across the width. From the cross beams I hang four chain hoists with slings attached. I can easily lift the 8000 pound 28 foot sail boat.
But, I filled in the ends and sides to make my shed. Now I am going to dig in a cedar post about ten feet to one side. From the top of the post I will place a cedar log and attach it to the steel part. with two chain hoists I can lift the spare XS1100 MNS out of my truck. Later I will use this sky hook to lift the new rear end for the truck to a comfortable working height, and again to lift the back of the truck when I swap the rear end. Herb my 41 Ford 9N tractor can lift the rear end for moving it around. I am keeping the old belch mobile truck for as long as I have the 28 foot sail boat, so I can tow it to the ocean, or deliver it somewhere to its new owner. 015 is the year of reducing inventory.

I see. Thanks for explaining.

I had in mind it was one of those little aromatic red cedar trees, but clearly you have another, usable kind of cedar.

The cedars are at least 60 feet high.6 to 12 inches thick.
The fir on the Island is very hard, and they can blow over. I have one that is leaning towards the neighbours. I will get the pros in to look at it, and maybe drop it. Fortunately I have a steep bank about 60 feet high at the back of my property. It provides good shelter. I have about 30 trees.
Also have a large Garry Oak. I went from not knowing what it was, to the head of the conservation society. If it falls it will block the main road. Here's hoping.
