Motorcycle rides through blizzard during live weather forecast

The most recent Midwest snowstorm dropped several inches of snow in Indianapolis. The obligatory live news feed in the snow storm caught an intrepid motorcycle rider cruising along I-65 on his Ural.

The two wheel drive Ural was spotted riding along interstate 65 in Indianapolis with snow coming down briskly. The sidecar-equipped motorcycle features two drive wheels for better traction in the snow.

Snow Team 13 WTHR captured video of the rider during their live feed to the surprise of the weather forecaster and crew. The unidentified rider was tooling along in the 29-degree weather during a virtual white-out.

The adventurous rider may have entered the snow storm intentionally for the challenge or got caught unaware of the approaching storm. Stopping distances are much longer in snowy conditions and visibility is greatly reduced. Whether brave or fool-hearted, hopefully the rider made it to their destination unscathed.

Looks like an Ural. Aren't they designed for just this flavor of nonsense? Rough roads and frigid weather?

Bah. He's an amateur, although a promising one.

    Two bikes. Alaska. Winter.

yeah, but it's one thing to plan a trip in the snow like they did in that video, and something entirely different to take the bike to work during a snow storm like the first video Dods posted....

    I remember seeing that myself!

I thought *I* was dedicated...my nominal rule is no rain and >= 40 degrees to ride to work.

I remember one bad Nor'easter where plow trucks were sliding off the road, and I watched a Ural rider come up over the hill across the bridge into town... At the time, I thought two things. First, he was freakin INSANE! And also, it was epic as hell.

Having a side car helps out. 3-Wheels > 2-Wheels in those conditions. I wanted to take the Spyder out when it snowed but my wife threatened to take the keys from me forever if I did.
