Steve McQueen motorcycles to be auctioned

MidAmerica Auctions is conducting their fourth annual Antique Motorcycle Marketplace in Pebble Beach, California. Barbara McQueen, widow of actor Steve McQueen, will make a guest appearance. Two of McQueen's vintage motorcycles will be auctioned off at the event.

In 1940 Indian four-cylinder and a 1938 Triumph Speed Twin owned by McQueen will be auctioned off.

Other motorcycles will also be on the block. A rare collection of six 1963-1967 Triumph Bonneville T120 TT Specials, a 1916 Harley Davidson 8-Valve Racer, 1953 Vincent Black Shadow Series C, 1939 Brough Superior 1150 V-Twin, and a 1912 Wagner Belt Drive Single will all be up for bidding.

Barbara McQueen will be signing copies of her book, Steve McQueen: The Last Mile…revisited. The book is Barbara McQueen account of her shared adventures with Steve McQueen including several never before released photos.

"My hundreds of pictures of him stayed tucked away in the closet for nearly 25 years,” Barbara McQueen said. “Then something happened inside me when I turned 50, the same age Steve was when he died. It was if a veil had been lifted and I could finally look back on our life together and examine it without fear. I know he would have been proud of it.”

The auction will be held at the Pebble Beach Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance from August 17th through the 19th.
