pat is the reason i didnt delete my account. there were some unsavory comments made, and i took offense, made some comments of my own, and was going to leave the mcforum.

pat let me know that i should stick around, and let me know that there were no problems to be had. so i stuck around...

i am surprised that he is gone. of course, these are the things we dont get to plan for. i will miss his banter, and posts on the forum.

Rest In Peace Pat Taylor. you will be missed.

i was planning a ride today, so its pegs down for gumby!

I'm pretty new to this forum and didn't know him however I have read some of his posts and he seemed like a stand up guy. I'm really very sorry to hear of this tragedy and my prayers go out to his family.

Another horrible tragedy. I didn't personally know Pat, but from using this site, I believe he was an upstanding man, here and in his personal life. What a loss for everyone.

Gonna miss him. If ever I had questions about the Bandit he would always answer and go out of his to get me the answer. Will miss seeing his witty sayings!!! I would just laugh when I read some of his stuff. Prayers for him and his family.

Pat was a great guy. He had a wicked sense of humor that was never mean-spirited or condesending. He loved to help new riders with riding safely and helped numerous others with his mechanical knowledge.

The world is a lesser place due to his passing.

Pat was doing what he loved. One of the most venerable members of our staff and forums here since Dec. of 2007 he had over 4000 helpful posts and was always very instrumental in working hard to make this forum a better place we could all enjoy.

He will be greatly missed.

Damm. That's really terrible. He was a positive force on this forum, which I suspect is just a reflection of what he was in life generally. If there's any way to get the message to his children, your father will be missed here. He was a good man. I am deeply saddened by his passing. As another member said, he was doing what he loved. There is some comfort in that.

RIP, Pat. Pegs down on my bike for a week in remembrance.

I didn't know him, but I enjoyed many of his posts, and I enjoyed his subtle sense of humor. He seemed to me to have a good technical knowledge of bikes and engines, even if I didn't agree with him on certain very minor and trivial technical issues. And now he has proceeded all of us into Death, and that is just terrible news!

"Time erases alike the deeds of commoner and conqueror,
and nothing remains but the memories
of those whos' lives they have touched."

Personally I'm not into the on-line prayer thing, but if I could, I'd want his family to know just one thing about him that maybe they don't realize: His posts were read by hundreds, maybe thousands of people. Maybe even tens of thousands? By his words he touched many, many lives. His words here on the Internet have influenced many people, and helped them make decisions, and brought them comfort and re-assurance, or brought a smile to their faces, or helped them turn a wrench in the right direction. Pat has touched many lives on here, (including my own,) and as long as we remember him, then in some small way he will live in our hearts as long as we do. That's not a bad legacy, not bad at all.

It is with a great amount of sadness that we and Pat's family must say goodbye. But, we must remember the kindness and smiles that he brought to each of our lives.
We never know what lies ahead of us. Pat always made the best of every minute and extended his helping hands to help others.
For those of us that know him, we were blessed. For those that didn't, you missed one fine example of how a person should live their life.
May God's loving hands caress Pat's family during this time and help us all to realize how much better off our life is because of his time with us.

Peace be with you and your family, my friend.

I never knew Pat's name.....just iamgumby.....I can't believe this has happened....Pat was one of the people on this website that I sure considered a friend....hoped to meet him one day....we pm'd back & forth quite a bit.....exchanging bbq recipes.....another passion of his.....I wish I knew his kids addresses to send our condolences.....although we never met in person I surely considered Pat a friend......as motorcyclists, we know the dangers of our passion.....gumby took all the precautions & did everything he could to put the odds in his favor.....brothers & sisters.....you never know when your time will be up.....my prayer is that this will make you consider your eternal destiny......its hard to post this through the tears......our forum will never be the same.....Rest In Peace my brother.....one of your recipes will become a Memorial Day tradition at my house......you are truely missed! Prayers lifted for your family.....

It seems like every time I am not busy with something this weekend, my thoughts keep bouncing back to Pat. It will be weird reading through threads and not having iamgumby's post to add to the fun. It is interesting how much the passing of someone I never knew affected me. Pegs will be down for Pat all week.
