I didn't know him, but I enjoyed many of his posts, and I enjoyed his subtle sense of humor. He seemed to me to have a good technical knowledge of bikes and engines, even if I didn't agree with him on certain very minor and trivial technical issues. And now he has proceeded all of us into Death, and that is just terrible news!
"Time erases alike the deeds of commoner and conqueror,
and nothing remains but the memories
of those whos' lives they have touched."
Personally I'm not into the on-line prayer thing, but if I could, I'd want his family to know just one thing about him that maybe they don't realize: His posts were read by hundreds, maybe thousands of people. Maybe even tens of thousands? By his words he touched many, many lives. His words here on the Internet have influenced many people, and helped them make decisions, and brought them comfort and re-assurance, or brought a smile to their faces, or helped them turn a wrench in the right direction. Pat has touched many lives on here, (including my own,) and as long as we remember him, then in some small way he will live in our hearts as long as we do. That's not a bad legacy, not bad at all.
