DRAT, you picked the ONE day in 3 weeks I drove the cage to work since I had something awkwardly heavy to bring in to work! I park in a designated bike lot every day, though I'm not sure there is a sign in view, just on the approach road, though there are marked bike parking spots on the ground. It wouldnt be fair to use an old picture.

Weather permitting (I think we are flirting with snow tomorrow, will have to check) I'll ride in tomorrow..but if someone can get it first go for it!

Here are two different lots right next to each other that both have motorcycle spots. The second pic is right up next to the building in the back of the first shot.

(Unfortunately, this is not on a small island. However, it is on a large peninsula.)

New tag: Bed and Breakfast (try to show a sign, but we can take your word).

I'm curious where you guys live that they have designated motorcycle parking? I've never seen that before! Cool!

I have never seen one in WA. None that I know of on the mainland, BC, and none in the cities on the big island, Vancouver Island. But we have them on my more sane and organised Island.
It started when most of the bike riders, would park in the triangle spots where a cage would not fit. That freed a spot for Granny, and many say thank you. In the big cities like Victoria or Vancouver, we would get a ticket.
I figured there had to be some dedicated spots somewhere else.
My Island is listed to the left. Closest city is Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.

I live in Florida. I would say it is actually very uncommon here. It just happens that I have these two places right down the street from me. I use one of them pretty often, at the BBQ joint.

Something else we have in my neighborhood is golf cart parking, which I also often use. I use my golf cart for shopping and errands, going out to eat and cruising around with my dog. We have 10 foot wide sidewalks on the main streets, and you are allowed to drive the carts on the side streets.

Motorcycle Picture Challenge....

A day late and a dollar short as usual :-) but I rode in the cold rain for this picture so I'm posting it anyway. This is the motorcycle parking area at Newark Airport, room for 30-40 bikes and it's indoors too :-)

Not many in this area either, a couple of restaurants have a small section that cars don't fit in marked for bikes, probably we would have parked there anyway but it's nice to make it official.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started riding to work just how nice the parking is! It's premium parking, most of this ground floor is valet (car) parking, it's indoors, well lit, the shortest walk to the Monorail to the terminals and with valet parking attendants there 24X7 its safe too. The picture showed one side, other half of the spots are raised 6 inches on a wide sidewalk inside the same structure, they turned a handicap access curb into a ramp for bikes to get up on it.

When I take my car to work I have to park outside, 4 miles away and take a 15 minute bus ride to work. So I try very hard not to do that :-)

I guess it's been rough weather up north. Reminder the tag is

Bed and Breakfast.

If it helps, we can open things up a bit--how about any nice historic home that could become a B+B?

Man, I did not think this was a tough one. I know Eye has at least one on the River's edge in Daytona. I think they are really pretty common.

If someone can't catch one or show intention this weekend, then maybe we should open it up to any picture.

edit--google found them in pretty much any big city.

The bike parking is nice.
I don't think I've ever seen a motorcycle only parking space anywhere around here in my corner of northwestern NJ.
I always take a full car parking space.

I was on the bike yesterday but did not see any signs. Will try again, but I will be in the RV ( red van ) today to fetch supplies.

I don't want to see this thread die. Do we need to open it up to any new tag? If that's what someone out there needs to step up, I'd say let's do it. Anyone still playing, or are you all hibernating?

I was riding today. Did a slow trip around the Island, saw no signs for B & B.
Probably some on the roads I did not travel.

I've been riding until we got a few inches of snow MOnday and it's melted so I'm sure I'll ride again after the salt is gone but with Christmas and work and the short days I just haven't had time to look for the challenge.
I think just leave it out there a while, someone will pick it up sooner or later.

Now go find a Bed and Breakfast and get a picture of your sweaty bike there, while the rest of us sit waiting for the snow to melt.

If ride to the big city on Sunday to visit my young GF, I am bound to find one. None on my Island so far. Trip to the city is weather dependent, as I have to go over an 1100 foot bump subject to nasty weather.
