Daytona Bike Week will be pushed back a week from the traditional dates, due to the later starting of the Daytona 200. The dates for this year's event are March 9th through the 18th.

Glenn Curtiss, the fastest man on earth

In 1907, Glenn Curtiss became known as the fastest man on earth. His home-built, air-cooled V-8 powered motorcycle took him to a speed of 136.3 miles an hour in Ormand Beach, Florida on January 24th.

Bikers raise over $8000 to combat child abuse

An event hosted by Orlando Harley Davidson to raise awareness for the non-profit Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) rode along Interstate 4 in Florida this past Sunday. There were several hundred riders participating in the ride and after party.

Royal Enfield to produce cafe racer for 2013

Royal Enfield, the once British and now Indian company, has been producing just about the same motorcycle since 1962. At first built for sale only in India, recent years have seen a lot of exports to the rest of the world, including the US. This has led to more demand for variations in engine size, styling, and design, as well as higher quality standards. The venerable Bullet has seen several changes recently and will be available as a cafe racer for the 2013 model year.

Cro Customs builds a 1956 Panhead

Caleb Owens of Cro Customs builds bikes meant to be ridden. He rarely makes “show quality” motorcycles. The most recent endeavor by Cro customs is a motorcycle named “Siksika”. It's a customized 1956 Panhead, and can certainly be classified as ready to show.

WSB rider John Hopkins has finger amputated

World Superbike rider John Hopkins opted to have part of his finger removed following an unsuccessful recovery from surgery. The rider injured his hand last year in practice at the Brno MotoGP and has struggled to regain full function of the digit since then. He underwent 6 surgeries to attempt to repair the finger before finally deciding to have it removed.

Honda introduced it's answer to the popular Kawasaki Versys at the New York International Motorcycle show today. The NC700X is a 670 cc parallel twin slanted forward to 62 degrees. It features a standard 6-speed transmission and chain final drive.
